Mortal Kombat 1 crossplay will not be coming to the game during its launch. WB Games has confirmed Wednesday over Twitter that it will arrive later via a patch.
“Launch is just around the corner and we canāt wait for everyone to sink their teeth into Mortal Kombat 1,” says the official Mortal Kombat Twitter account. “Regarding Kross-Play, it will not be available at launch, but know we are hard at work at implementing the feature into the game and it will be koming post launch.”
So, to put it all in one sentence: you won’t be able to playĀ Mortal Kombat 1Ā with fighters on platforms other than your own on day one.
Neither WB Games nor the developer NetherRealm has provided a release date or window for Mortal Kombat 1 crossplay.
Other replies ask if the game will support cross-save between PC and consoles. There has been no response from WB Games or the developer.
WB Games has confirmed that rollback netcode is used in Mortal Kombat 1. It’s a popular connection tool that lets players have more stable matches.
Mortal Kombat 1 is releasing on September 19 for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. You’ll be able to preload the game a few days early. You can also get Shang Tsung as a playable preorder character bonus.
