This year’s Tokyo Game Show will run from September 21 until Sunday, September 24, and some big presentations are planned. Microsoft has announced that its Xbox Digital Broadcast will be making a return. The company will be sporting a Japanese theme featuringĀ Maneki-neko the good luck cat, Mount Fuji, and Japanese lanterns.
You can catch the show on September 21 at 09:00 AM UTC on YouTube. If you’re lucky enough to attend the event, you’ll also have the chance to gain entrance to an exclusive in-person event with Xbox’s Phil Spencer.
What to expect from Xbox Digital Broadcast
According to the announcement, you can expect to hear progress updates from Bethesda Softworks and Xbox. Microsoft is also planning to reveal new games that are coming to Game Pass.
There are a few upcoming games that have confirmed Game Pass day one launches, including Clockwork Revolution and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. Microsoft’s announcement could expand the list even further.
As for Bethesda Softworks, its progress update could go in a few directions. Though Redfall launched to a less than enthusiastic reception, Bethesda has assured gamers that it won’t be leaving it out to dry. The update could be related to upcoming content for the game.
In contrast, Starfield has enjoyed a successful launch, and there are a few announcements the publisher could make about the game. Already, modders have done a good job of giving players even more freedom, though Bethesda’s Creation Club hasn’t been released for the game yet. Bethesda could discuss this, or it could reveal more information about Starfield‘s upcoming Shattered Space DLC which we’re still entirely in the dark about.
If last year’s Xbox Digital Broadcast is anything to go by, it’ll be an event packed with great reveals. Microsoft won’t have Tokyo Game Show to itself, as plenty of studios and publishers have confirmed their attendance, including Square Enix, Atlus, Sega, and Sony, to name a few.
