Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis is a wide mixture of Final Fantasy 7 content. In addition to the original PlayStation game, Ever Crisis also draws from Crisis Core and the ill-fated The First Soldier. Based on the original reveal trailer, we know we’ll eventually see more of the “Compilation of Final Fantasy 7” universe here. But with this content in the game at launch, what characters will you play as in Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis?

It’s interesting to see that Final Fantasy 7 mainstays like Cid and Vincent aren’t on the roster here. Yuffie is an especially surprising omission, considering she made her debut in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade.
That said, note that when progressing through the main story, your party will be largely predetermined. For example, when you play the iconic Mako Reactor intro sequence, you must use Cloud and Barret. Once you get into the supplemental content in the game, you can start to mix and match your party members to build your Final Fantasy 7 dream team.
Sephiroth is in Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, he just isn’t a main character
We already know from pre-release trailers that we’ll learn more about characters like Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis. After all, you can’t really have Final Fantasy 7 without key characters like him in it. So in other words, expect to see more familiar faces pop up, even if you can’t play as them at the moment.
We’ll see how the character roster in Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis grows in the future, especially after games like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth make their debut.
