Elder Mist inĀ Sea of StarsĀ tactics

You can easily be distracted during the Elder Mist boss inĀ Sea of Stars.Ā You’ll first want to focus on the sword that the foe carries. If you attack the main body, it will retaliate with an annoying counter move that inflicts 20 HP to all party members. You won’t be successful if you follow this strategy. Instead, take out the weapon first and then focus on the boss. Use Zale’s Sunball and the other characters’ regular attacks to take it out quickly.

Every time you hit the Elder Mist, it will drop balls of white. You can take in their energy and then buff your strength to cause more damage on the boss. At some point, it will try to heal itself, and a ball of green will appear in its hand. When this occurs, look to the right of its head. The UI will tell you what kind of attacks you need to negate its upcoming healing spell and how many turns you have to do it.

Save Valere’s Moonerang for this situation. More than likely, the bar will ask you to perform two or three moon abilities. Use Moonerang and time each deflection of the spell accurately. You’ll be able to cancel the healing spell in one turn. If the UI says it needs a club, have your kind companion Garl swing at it with a regular attack.

If you need MP for the expensive Moonerang, eat some Berry Jam to regain 5MP. Also, make sure Garl is constantly healing his friends with his Nourish ability.

How long is the Elder Mist battle?

The battle should take around 5-10 minutes to finish. You’ll know you’re near the end when you can see him getting fatigued. He’ll also have some concerned eyes on his face. The sword will return every once in a while. Again, just make sure you focus on that weapon before launching an attack on the Elder Mist.

Once the Elder Mist inĀ Sea of StarsĀ is defeated, you’ll be able to move on to the next island of the game. You’ll also gain 240 experience points from the battle.
