What Ascension materials does Freminet use in Genshin Impact?

Freminet’s debut in Genshin Impact is just around the corner! If you want to start building him as soon as you pull him, then here’s what you’ll need:

Character Ascension

Artificed Spare Clockwork Components — Coppelius

You can earn these by defeating Coppelius, the Pneuma version of the Icewind Suite duo in Fontaine. You can find the boss near Opera Epiclese. Speak to Maillardet and choose the correct version of the boss before you start each fight. You’ll need 46 components in total, which will take an average of 18 boss runs or about 720 Resin at World Level 8.

Romaritime Flowers

These can be found all over Fontaine, though many of them are underwater. You’ll need 168 of them in total.

Transoceanic Pearls

These drop from Fontemer Aberrants, which are the various underwater creatures that inhabit Fontaine’s waters. These include hermit crabs, seahorses, jellyfish, octopuses, and sea hares. The seal-like Blubberbeasts drop them too, but if you kill them then you are more of a monster than they are.

You’ll need a total of 18 Transoceanic Pearls, 30 Transoceanic Chunks, and 36 Xenochromatic Crystals to fully ascend Freminet, more if you plan on leveling his Talents.

Shivada Jade

These Cryo gems drop from Coppelius, whom you’ll be fighting anyway for his clockwork components. They also drop from other world bosses and weekly bosses, and are included as daily commission rewards, so there’s a good chance you already have a few.

You’ll need 1 Sliver, 9 Fragments, 9 Chunks, and 6 Gemstones in total.

Talent Levels

Justice Books

Freminet uses Justice books, which you can farm from the Fontaine Talent domain on Tuesdays and Fridays. You’ll need 9 brown books, 63 silver books, and 114 gold books to get all Talents to level ten. This translates to around 2,420 Resin or 13.4 days of farming at the hardest difficulty.

Worldspan Ferns

These are obtained from the Guardian of Apep’s Oasis challenge, which is the weekly boss domain found to the northwest of the Desert of Hadramaveth. To unlock this challenge, you’ll need to have completed the second chapter of Nahida’s Story Quests. You’ll need 18 ferns total, and since you can only challenge this boss once a week, that means around 8 weeks of farming at the highest difficulty.

Transoceanic Pearls

As mentioned above, these drop from Fontemer Aberrants. You’ll need 18 Transoceanic Pearls, 66 Transoceanic Chunks, and 93 Xenochromatic Crystals to fully level Freminet’s Talents. This doesn’t include the materials needed for his character Ascension.
