How to Highlight Objects in Baldur’s Gate 3

In order to highlight objects in Baldur’s Gate 3, simply push the Left ALT key. Doing so will cause all interactable objects to be highlighted, making it easier to see what you can do. Also, objects such as corpses or containers that are empty indicate as such. This is a huge quality-of-life feature so you don’t waste your time running around searching empty entities.

Keep in mind that Left ALT is the default key for highlighting objects. If you are using a non-default key bind layout, or have manually changed the highlight objects command to another key, Left ALT may not do the trick. Therefore, if Left ALT isn’t highlighting objects, navigate into your Settings and then Keybinding options to see what key you have it set to.

Of course, this is only the case if you are using a keyboard & mouse as your input. If you are using a controller—or playing on PlayStation 5—the button you must press to highlight objects will be different. Of course, if this is the case, you can once again simply checkout your Keybinding settings to find which button you have mapped to carry out the task.
