Since the release of Tears of the Kingdom, fans have been pushing the game and its mechanics to its limits. In the process, a few glitches have been unearthed that make it easy to get rich or create absurdly powerful weapons. Nintendo has been on top of these tricks, and with new every patch glitches have been eliminated.

The latest patch for Tears of the Kingdom (v.1.2.0) fixes a few minor issues with the game, but it also removes a couple of get-rich-quick glitches. Players hoping still hoping to beat the system will have to either avoid updating their game or find a new way to farm Rupees fast.

Glitches eliminated from Tears of the Kingdom with v.1.2.0 patch

The frozen meat glitch is a popular one, as it lets players accumulate money quickly. To perform it, all you need to do is fuse some meat to a stick, make a pile of meat sticks using Autobuild, then use Autobuild again in a snowy area to cause frozen meat to drop. This frozen meat can then be sold for Rupees.

With the latest patch, the frozen meat glitch is gone, and it’s not the only exploit that has disappeared. The item duplication glitch performed in Tobio’s Hollow Chasm has also been patched out. This means that players will have to work a little harder for their money. You can also turn off updates by going to System Settings on your Switch, heading to the System tab, and turning off automatic software updates.

General Updates

  • By starting the game from within certain articles released on a specific Switch News channel (accessed via the HOME Menu) players can receive several in-game items.
Depending on the state of gameplay progression or the location in which the data is reopened, there may be cases in which the items cannot be received.

Additional Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where players could not progress beyond a certain point in the main quests “A Mystery in the Depths” and “Secret of the Ring Ruins”, the side adventures “Hateno Village Research Lab” and “Lurelin Village Restoration Project”, the shrine quest “Dyeing to Find It”, and the side quests “Village Attacked by Pirates”, “The Incomplete Stable”, and “Seeking the Pirate Hideout”. Downloading the update will allow players to proceed past that point.
  • Fixed an issue preventing fairies from appearing under certain conditions when they originally should have appeared.
  • Fixed an issue preventing the meals provided by Kiana of Lurelin Village from changing under certain conditions.
  • Several issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience.

Ultimately, patches are meant to bring greater stability to the game, though this comes at the cost of removing some exploits. Though the frozen meat glitch is gone, there may be other money-making tricks that are discovered at a later stage. Alternatively, you earn Rupees the honest way.
