How to complete Honey, Bee Mine quest in Tears of the Kingdom

Sweet beats

Music is crucial, and it’s hard to make music without sweets. That’s the rationale behind Honey, Bee Mine, anyways. This particularĀ Tears of the Kingdom side adventure sees Link hunting down honey for a drummer, in order to make a delicious snack for his beleaguered maestro.

While it’s possible to run across this side adventure in the open world ofĀ Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll need to complete Honey, Bee Mine to finish a Great Fairy quest, Serenade to Cotera. Finishing the quest here will see Beetz rejoin the Stable Trotters and set them up for their next gig. So, let’s get to work!

How to start Honey, Bee Mine inĀ TOTK

Remember when I said you could easily stumble across this in the open world? Yes, it’s very, very easy to do so. In fact, that’s how I had this side quest sitting in my log for ages before I ever started helping out the Stable Trotters.

Beetz is outside Kakariko Village, hanging out by a tent. You can follow the beat of the drum or the directions of nearby travelers. Or, use the handy-dandy birds in the sky that seem to always circle over points of interest.

Once there, you can meet Beetz, who tells you about his dilemma in acquiring honey for a crepe.

Where to get Courser Bee Honey in TOTK

Beetz will needĀ three honeycombs of Courser Bee Honey in order to make his crepe. Now, you can seek out a forest and do this the old-fashioned way. This can result in fleeing and bee stings. Not ideal.

If you’re pursuing all of the Great Fairy quests though, you have an alternative option available. The reward for completing The Hornist’s Dramatic Escape, part of the quest chain forĀ anotherĀ Stable Trotter member, is three Courser Bee Honey honeycombs. This is killing two birds with one stone. Or bees, I never learned about either.

Take them back to Beetz, and you’ll get everything set up fine. The drummer will return to his band, and now you’re primed to go perform a Serenade to Cotera back at the Dueling Peaks Stable.
