Telltale has announced that 2008’s certified classic adventure game Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People is facing imminent delisting. It’s now or never if you want to own one of the most impactful and significant masterpieces in human existence.

In a heart-rending press release, Telltale states, “Unfortunately, we can no longer support Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People. We no longer have the rights to the IP, and so we can no longer sell or support the game series.”

Oh man, the press release is, like, two non-paragraphs long, so I’ll just give you the rest. “So, whether you’ve had a dance party with The Cheat or you poked fun at Homestar Runner, you can still download all your episodes from the PC digital storefronts where you bought the game.”

That’s me! I mean, I don’t remember when I did either of those things, but I definitely bought the game. I guess if I want to also own it on, hm, PlayStation 3, now’s my 4-minute warning.

Real talk: Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People is a great game if you dig the humor of Homestar Runner. While the march of time has aged humor from the ‘90s and ‘00s pretty poorly, Homestar Runner somehow transcends that by already never existing in exactly one moment to begin with. The games that make up the only season of Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People are also great representations of the early period of Telltale’s success as they tried to resurrect the point-and-click adventure genre. They’re maybe not the best games, but they are just plain the best.

I’m hoping that Telltale is losing the IP because the Brothers Chaps are transferring it to Skunkape games to have the games remastered in the same way that they touched up the Sam & Max Telltale titles. That’s not based on any research, hearsay, or rumor; that’s just what I hope is happening. One thing is for sure: new games in the Homestar Runner universe are still happening, as Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate is set to drop soon on PC.

If you want to grab Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People, now may be your last chance on PC and PS3.
