Money, money, money
Whether itās for that awesome piece of armor, a bunch of arrows, or whatever else you may need, Rupees are going to be necessary for conquering Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Unfortunately, they arenāt the easiest thing to come by, unless you know what makes you the most money.
Best items to sell for Rupees in Tears of the Kingdom
If you plan on building your own house in Tarrey Town or doing pretty much anything else in Hyrule, youāre going to need Rupees sooner or later. One of the best ways to make money in this game is to sell items for Rupees. Here are the best items you can sell for Rupees in Tears of the Kingdom and how to get each of them.
Materials
Random materials are a decent way to make some extra cash in the game, especially when youāre just starting out. Items like apples, flint, herbs, and so on will earn you a few Rupees for each of them. I mostly recommend these for the players who are only a few hours into the game.
These materials donāt give you much to start with, but they can help you at least stock up on arrows or get your first piece of armor. Just be sure to grab every plant, apple, etc you see in the field. If you have too many of a single item, it might be worth selling the excess amount you donāt need.
Prepared food
Better yet, if you have tons of apples and other food items, itās worth heading to a cooking pot and turning them into a delectable treat. These cooked food items generally sell for more than the original material would on its own.
This is a much quicker way to earn some Rupees and get more out of the items in your inventory.
Monster parts
As you defeat various Bokoblins, Moblins, Gleeoks, Lynels, and the like, youāll earn various monster parts. While you could use these to attach to your weapons for added attack bonuses, you can also sell them at traders for Rupees.
The rarer the monster part, the more valuable it is. For instance, a Bokoblin Horn might only sell for a few Rupees, but the drops from one of the several dragons in the game is far more valuable and will sell in the hundreds.
Brightbloom seeds
One item youāll likely end up with hundreds of over time are Brightbloom seeds. You generally donāt need too many of these in your time in the Depths, so I like to sell the hundreds Iām not going to use for Rupees. These seeds are everywhere in caves throughout the game.
Gems
Speaking of caves, some of the best items to sell for money are the gems in the game. Youāll find ruby, sapphire, amber, and other gems as you play. Carry around a weapon with a rock attached to it and you can destroy ore deposits to farm these valuable gems.
Diamonds
Above all else, diamonds are the most impressive item to sell in Tears of the Kingdom. They are the best gems and also the rarest. But if you can find themāor even duplicate them, if you have an older patch versionāyou can sell diamonds for 500 Rupees each.
Sell a handful of these and youāll instantly be able to make the home of your dreams or do pretty much anything else.
Flint
Flint is part of the materials and gems you can mine for in caves and the like, but it differs in how often youāll find it. Similar to Brightbloom Seeds, youāll find flint pretty much everywhere in the game where you can break rocks for gems.
It wonāt be long before your inventory is full of flint if you mine for a bit, and youāll likely have more than youāll ever need. They sell for a measly five or 10 rupees each, depending on the trader, but it starts to add up quite fast if you have 100 or more of these in your inventory.
Elixirs
In addition to meals, players can also make elixirs. Items like the Hearty Elixir and Energizing Elixir are similar to food in how they recover stamina, buff the player, or temporarily give them extra hearts. They usually use rarer materials, such as the Energetic Rhino Beetle and monster parts.
Though they donāt always recover hearts the way food does, they, too, can be worth a solid amount of rupees. If you have an abundance of monster parts and materials you wonāt ever use, whip up some elixirs at the cooking pot and sell them for some solid cash. You can even sometimes get more money than you would for food this way.
