Team Cece or Team Reede quest guide Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

Can I offer you a mushroom in this trying time?

Hateno Village is quite peaceful, but the mayoral bout between fashion designer Cece and current mayor Reede quickly becomes a focal point of many side quests in the area. While you can assist both candidates, Cece’s quest will see you canvassing the town to see who’s Team Cece or Team Reede in the upcoming election.

Yes,Ā Tears of the KingdomĀ includes a political survey side quest. But rather than just being a pollster, in the quest Team Cece or Team Reede? you’ll actually be trying to sway some folks towards Cece’s side. That’s through a bundle of mushrooms, which you’ll hand out as favors for those who aren’t already won over by Cece. You can start this quest by talking to Cece, after visiting her shop for the first time and kick-starting the Mayoral Election quest line in Hateno Village.

Who to hand Hylian shrooms to for the Team Cece or Team Reede quest

As Cece notes, her own supporters can be identified by their garb. They’ll be wearing the colorful, vegetable-inspired attire you’ve probably seen already. Anyone wearing a mushroom hat, or some type of colorful garb, is probably a Cece supporter.

In total, there areĀ eight peopleĀ you’ll need to sway with shrooms. They’re likely to be farmers, older folks, or those who don’t vibe with Cece’s style. Here’s where to locate them all:

TemenaĀ is likely to be near the entrance to Hateno, cleaning up. She’ll offer you an egg and opine about Link, but eventually, you will be able to hand her a Hylian Shroom.

We also foundĀ Medda, a farmer, nearby as he was on his way to work for the morning. He might be harder to spot thanks to his hat looking aĀ littleĀ bit like the mushroom hats that Cece supporters wear, but he is a farmer, and is one of your shroom candidates.

WortenĀ works at the inn, and is at odds with his Cece-supporting partner. It’s tough. But hey, the Hylian shroom Link can give him helps him see the benefits of indulging his partner’s interests. Character growth!

Meanwhile LeopĀ is not so supportive, but he’ll take a Hylian shroom anyways. He is one of the elderly in Hateno Village, who seem to generally dislike the fashion-forward direction the town’s taken. We found him in the town, looking at the bulletin boards.

Also walking around the town should beĀ Uma, who seems unperturbed by the rain, as you can tell from our screenshot. She’s another target for shroom-based political sway.

Up the hill you’ll findĀ Dantz, working out on the pasture. He’s open to the shrooms, though not so much fashion. His daughter Koyin, out by the docks, is also a shroom recipient. You’ll probably meet them while doing their respective quests, or other Hateno quests, so they’re easy enough to find.

Last is “old man”Ā Tokk, who was a bit tricky for me to find at first. The easiest way to find him is heading up to the research lab in the morning, as he’ll usually be on his way up or hanging around there at that time. I’ve also discovered him sitting at the cooking pot out by Dantz’s house.

Once you’ve delivered all the Hylian shrooms, you can report your success back to Cece. This completes her specific part of the Mayoral Election quest line, though you’ll need to delve a bit deeper to see the political conflict come to an end. Still, at least everyone in Hateno has some more mushrooms in their diet.

Don’t miss some other questlines in Hateno Village

Hateno Village has a breadth of sidequests, to the point where you could spend an entire weekend in it and still not clear everything.

While you’re here, make sure you interact with Cece, gain the ability to bring down your hood, and take on the “A New Signature Food” quest with Reede.

You can also hit up shrines for some quick fast travel spots, including Zanmik: which is right next door.
