Confession: I think Dakota Fanning and Abigail Breslin are the same person. Of course, they’re not. Fanning is a 14-year-old blonde actress best known for her roles in movies like War of the Worlds and The Secret Life of Bees. Breslin is a 12-year-old blonde actress who starred in Little Miss Sunshine and Nim’s Island.
Or maybe it’s the other way around. I don’t know.
I do know this (and I doubled checked I had the right actress here, because I’m a serious journalist): Dakota Fanning will be featured in the videogame adaptation of Coraline. Fanning’s voice can also be heard in the film, alongside Keith David (a.k.a. the “ass to ass” guy from Requiem for a Dream) and Robert Downey Jr..
And you might be asking, why should you care? Because the film Coraline, based on Neil Gaiman’s Graphic novel, looks fantastic. While I can make no promises about the game, it’s relation to the film at least means it deserves a second look. And I hope it’ll help me get my Fannings and Breslins straight.
The Coraline videogame hits shelves on January 27 for Wii, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo DS. The film will be in theaters February 6, and stars Abi–uh-Dakota Fanning. I think.
