Especially for Ewe
Massive Monster has launched its previously announced update for Satanic Sheep Scarer Cult of the Lamb — The massive update, available now on PC and console platforms, brings a flockful of bug fixes, balance tweaks, new features, modes, and enemies to the award-winning roguelike-cum-cult-simulator.
Titled “Relics of the Old Faith“, the update adds a brand new post-game storyline, along with new Crusades, additional Sermon upgrades, new “Heavy Attacks”, 13 new character encounters, 16 new minibosses, and a whopping 37 new relics. This is just scratching the surface of the additional content, which also tosses in several new enemies, combat room traps, and Followers — all of which look set to provide even the most-hardened cult leaders with newly darkened adventure.

In addition to this array of content, Relics of the Old Faith adds a tweaked Dungeon Gauntlet mode known as Purgatory, as well as a delightful Photo Mode, which lets you capture the unique and distinct visuals of Cult of the Lamb from all manner of angles, not just the standard 3/4 top-down view. These photos can also be adjusted with all manner of filters and comical stickers, which will look just darling for your pamphlets for new disciples.
On the accessibility front, the update offers a Dark Mode for the menu screens, as well as the option to switch off the blue filter in the building menus. A High Contrast font option is now available, as are fonts that will provide easier reading for Dyslexic players. New lighting controls include the ability to switch off screen flashing, and to switch between day/night visuals on a whim.
Releasing in the summer of last year, Cult of the Lamb won over an army of fans with its cute visuals, ultra-grim undertones, and deep roguelite action. With this new update, the title is perhaps better than ever before, and will not only give The One Who Waits’ devotees new reason to return to worship, but will also help to bring those curious players, yet to experience this twisted title, to the… ahem… flock.
Cult of the Lamb is available now on PlayStation, PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
