How to fix the Jungle Trip Parkour Lantern Fest bug in Fortnite

Epic Games likes to frequently partner with and promote content creators for “official” maps in Fortnite, and the Lantern Festival is one of these events. Given that it has main account XP and some extra bonuses, it’s no wonder that a lot of folks are playing it. Sadly, there are myriad glitches lurking about in the Lantern Fest: here’s how to fix one of them.

How to find the Jungle Trip Parkour challenge

To get to the Lantern Fest map, either locate it on the custom mode browser in-game, or enter the following code: 3691-9667-3697.

After loading into the map go up to the static NPC at the top of the stairs and choose to warp to “Parkour Paradise.” There are three Parkour challenges here, the first of which is the Jungle Trip. Interact with the button on the Jungle Trip Parkour banner to start the challenge.

How to complete the Jungle Trip Parkour challenge

• Start by walking on the left or right sides of the first bridge. Jump on the posts and onto the stone platform to easily skirt this entire challenge.
• The next bit is easily traversed by grappling to the nearest pole (grappling to a pole too far away will create a wider swing, causing you to hit the ground and restart the grappling area).
• To finish out the challenge, use the bow you’re automatically given to hit the target in the middle (note this is where the bug can happen, as the completion credit/warp back to the Parkour Paradise level select hub might not trigger)

How to fix the bow and arrow Jungle Trip Parkour bug

Like many other aspects of the Lantern Festival map, the Jungle Trip challenge can glitch out while you’re in a public game. Despite hitting the target square in the center with your bow, nothing will happen, and you’ll be forced to warp back with the device in your inventory or quit altogether.

To get it to work, quit your game and restart in a private match. Since the Parkour challenges don’t require multiplayer (unlike say, the race), you’re good to go on finishing this up solo. After multiple attempts to complete the Jungle Trip course in a public game, I was able to clear it on the first try in a private match.
