How to get the High Priest’s Amulet in Octopath Traveler 2

Say hi to another priest

Recommended Videos

The High Priest’s Amulet initially looks like a confusing key item in Octopath Traveler 2. You can’t equip it, and no one in any nearby villages has any use for it. Its purpose only becomes apparent once you get a bit further in the game.

Once you find the Clerics Guild in Borderfall, you’ll need the High Priest’s Amulet to receive an additional license for the Cleric secondary job. If you haven’t found this item yet, you’ll be given a hint to look somewhere “amongst verdant green” for Starfall Spring. That should give you a general idea of where to look, but it can be tricky to pinpoint where exactly Starfall Spring is. In truth, you’ve likely passed this location already. It’s just easy to miss.

Where to find Starfall Spring

You’ll find Starfall Spring in Southern Cropdale Trail, but don’t rush there right away. Enter Eastern Cropdale Trail and travel to Southern Cropdale Trail by boat. Follow the river and travel under the bridge until you find a place to dock. You should see a treasure chest here, though this is a little bit of a red herring. Keep moving south and you’ll find an obscured entrance to Starfall Spring (pictured above).

Starfall Spring only has a danger level of 15. In other words, if you’ve been to the Clerics Guild already, this should be a breeze. Explore the area fully and pick up any treasure chests along the way. To get to the High Priest’s Amulet, you’ll have to defeat the Monarch miniboss. This enemy has 13,000 HP and is weak to Spears, Daggers, Bows, and Dark Magic. You honestly don’t have much to worry about here, even if you aren’t overleveled. Just watch out for the Monarch’s skill Mirage, as that will make your physical attacks miss up to three times.

Once you clear the foe, you’ll find the High Priest’s Amulet in the red treasure chest ahead. Fast travel out of this dungeon and go to the Clerics Guide to get your new license if you’re able. Getting the third license will take a bit more work than this, so enjoy your reward for now!
