Become a champion of the Solistia continent
Octopath Traveler 2 doesnāt do a whole lot to radically change what was offered in the original Team Asano and Square Enix JRPG. This even includes the max level players can reach in the adventure. Though there are eight new characters to choose from, the peak you can reach as them remains the same.
What is the Octopath Traveler 2 max level?
It may not be surprising to some players from the first game, but the Octopath Traveler 2 max level is the same in this sequel. The max level that any of the eight party members in the game can reach is level 99. For some reason, this JRPG, like others, is averse to the number 100.
Also like the first game, character levels donāt mean as much here as they do in other similar JRPGs. The main focus of these games is the stats that each character has. These are much more significantly changed by the equipment each character wears, rather than their level.
Even still, the player level plays a decent role in the game, being the bar by which most areas are categorized. As such, reaching the max level of 99 may not be necessary to beat all eight charactersā storylines but it can certainly help.
Tips for quickly reaching level 99
For those players who wish to reach the max level of 99, there are a few ways to do it. The best way to reach level 99 is to have as many Dancers on your team as possible. This means placing the main Dancer, Agnea, in your party but also making the other members have the Dancer secondary job, if you can.
The Dancer job has access to the Bewildering Grace skill. Like the first game, this skill is a wild one that gives access to a random boon or consequence each time you use it. Though it is rare, some of the boosts include multiplying the number of experience points you get in a battle by two, five, 10, or even 100 times.
This is one of the best ways to get huge chunks of experience and levels at once. Since the boost isnāt guaranteed, having more than one Dancer using this is helpful. Go to the area that is nearest your current partyās level and use Bewildering Grace each turn.
Save up your BP and then use them all at once to do four Bewildering Graces per party member in a single turn. This maximizes the chances of increasing your experience points; just beware of any negative effects that can happen like losing BP or health.
I also recommend equipping a party member with accessories like the EXP Augmentor and Brooch of Joy. Also, be sure to equip the Scholarās Extra Experience and Thiefās Life in the Shadows skills. Fight battles at night to gain the most experience possible.
Lastly, keep in mind that reserve characters not currently in the party wonāt benefit from the massive XP boosts, so youāll have to grind separately for them.
