March 10
Amid rumors of first-person gameplay and a neon aesthetic,Ā FortniteĀ Chapter 4 Season 1 has come to a close, and it’s time to enter Season 2: “Fortnite Mega.”Ā Here’s when it launches.
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 (Fortnite Mega) will go live on March 10, in the early morning (US)
Unlike many prior seasons of Fortnite, Chapter 4 Season 2 did not go live after a 24 hour period. While Season 1 ended on March 8, Epic Games started making proper preparations to launch Season 2 on March 10, 2023. In other words, there’s a full day and change of downtime on March 9.
How long doesĀ Fortnite maintenance take?
Epic confirmed that downtime will kick off at 2AM ET on March 10, at which point “Fortnite Mega” will be implemented in the backend. There was a prior mistake in the announcement (3AM ET), but it was amended.
A few hours after that the game will be playable, barring any last-minute administrative snafus. Downtime ranges considerably depending on the update and season, so it could be a shorter amount of time until you get in, or you could be in for a longer wait.
Here is how we expect everything to shake out, timezone-wise:
- 5AM ET
- 2AM PT
- 10 UK
Further downtime updates can be found directly on Epic Games’ public status report site.
