How to find the Walking Wake / Iron Leaves Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

They’re 5-stars, as a reminder

Surprise! Although we didn’t get a new generation announcement or a Legends sequel, we did ingest a ton of news today on Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Not only are two DLC expansions coming, but the Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Tera Raids are live now, through March 12. Here’s how to find them.

You have until March 12

The overarching Walking Wake/Iron Leaves events are already live, and will run through March 12, 2023, and the ability to earn these creatures “through other means” is vaguely teased for the future.

These event raids are exclusive to each version (Walking Wake with Scarlet) and Iron Leaves with (Violet), but you can cross over into each raid through online play.

How to find the Walking Wake raid on the map and host (Water Tera Type)

While playing Pokemon Scarlet, look for a flashing water type symbol on the map, which will be appearing during the Walking Wake raid period (more info on how to discern specific icons here). Go to that raid den, and interact with it to host your own session.

A full image-based breakdown can be found in the gallery above.

How to find the Iron Leaves raid on the map and host (Psychic Tera Type)

While playing Pokemon Violet, look for a flashing psychic type symbol on the map, which will be appearing during the Iron Leaves raid period (more info on how to discern specific icons here). Go to that raid den, and interact with it to host your own session.

A full image-based breakdown can be found in the gallery above.

Can you still find Walking Wake and Iron Leaves raids in Pokemon Violet and Scarlet respectively?

Eventually you’ll run out of symbols on your map to host your own raids, so you’ll want to spam the Poke Portal search. Go to the main menu, then connect to the internet. Select Poke Portal, then select Tera Raid Battle, then look for the Walking Raid or Iron Leaves silhouettes (there’s two for reference in the gallery above). You can do this with either version.

If you don’t see any, wait for the “check for new postings” symbol to refresh (read: light up), and press X to search again. Keep going until you find your raid of choice, and select it to queue in. If it errors out or the session ends before you can battle, just rinse and repeat the process.
