How to get the Loyal Magmammoth mount in WoW Dragonflight

The process is straightforward, but requires rep grinding

Ah reputation grinding my old friend! How I have to get used to you again! WoW Dragonflight has added myriad factions to the game, including the wrinkle of pledging to two NPCs at the Obsidian Throne in The Waking Shores. The good thing is there’s no real catch to this, as you can swap allegiances each week. You’ll need to do that to pick up the Loyal Magmammoth mount. Let’s talk about how to get that process going from start to finish.

Step 1: Max out your reputation with both Wrathion and Sebellian

Each week, you can swear loyalty to either Wrathion or Sebellian at the Obsidian Throne, at coordinates 24.9, 56.7 at The Waking Shores (keep in mind that you may want to do the Dragonbane Keep questline, as well as the story portions that lead up to the liberation of the throne).

You’ll need both reputation tracks to max out before you can acquire the Loyal Magmammoth mount. Complete weekly quests (including Keys of Loyalty, which you’ll get right after swearing fealty) to raise your reputation/friendship level.

Step 2: Buy the Netherforged Lavaproof Boots and the Sturdy Obsidian Glasses from Samia and Lorena respectively

Once you actually have your max Wrathion and Sabellion rating set, you’ll need to buy two specific items (one from each faction):

• Samia Inkling is located at coordinates 24.7, 56.8 in The Waking Shores – they sell the Netherforged Lavaproof Boots
• Lorena Belle is located at coordinates 25.2, 55.9 in The Waking Shores – they sell the Sturdy Obsidian Glasses

Step 3: Acquire the Magmammoth Harness from Yries Lightfingers

Take both of these items and bring them to the nearby Yries Lightfingers, who is located at coordinates 26.5, 55.5 in the same location (Obsidian Citadel in The Waking Shores).

Buy the Magmammoth Harness from them using the items in step 2 as currency. We’ve provided multiple screenshot references for locating Yries Lightfingers, as they can be a bit elusive. Facing the throne when you first enter the zone from the flightpath, they’re located on the eastern portion of the throne level tier.

Step 4: Go tame the Magmammoth mount

You can find a tame Magmammoth at Dragonbane Keep (coordinates 23.4, 71.6).

Use the harness on it and you’re good!
