Earlier this year, Sega put up a beta casual gaming site, but it has just now officially went live.

PlaySEGA.com is packed with web games for you to waste your day with. It’s free to sign up for an account and play, though they do have plans for a paid VIP area. New users will earn 2,000 rings, which can be used to customize the site to their liking. When you play games, you’ll earn more rings. There’s even leaderboard achievements.

There’s some cool stuff in here, too. There’s a version of the DS game Brain Assist, and even Sonic At The Olympic Games has been squeezed down to web size. Seems like Mario and the gang were eliminated in the squeeze process.

I rocked Mah Jong Amazon Puzzle for some time, eating into a good part of my work morning. Word is that even better games are coming down the line, including Sega hits like Chu Chu Rocket, Columns, and Sonic The Hedgehog.

My favorite thing is how the classic 16-bit Seee-gaaah! song plays before every game.

See if you can beat my distance of 98 meters in the discus throw in Sonic At The Olympic Games.
