Epic is closing down servers for some of its older titles. Several classicĀ UnrealĀ titles, as well as some Harmonix games and other pieces of the Epic back catalog, are going offline.

The services are turning off so Epic can move to solely support its unified Epic Online Services, according to the company. While most of these games will remain available offline, some will be rendered no longer playable. “We apologize to the players affected by these changes,” Epic says in its update.

Games affected range from Epic’s classic titles, likeĀ Unreal, to some from studios it’s acquired over the years. A few Harmonix titles will see their online services turned off, thoughĀ Dance Central VRĀ andĀ Rock Band 4Ā will stay live.

Here’s the list of games with services turning off on January 24:

  • 1000 Tiny Claws
  • Dance Central 1 -3
  • Green Day: Rock Band
  • Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess
  • Rock Band 1 – 3
  • The Beatles: Rock Band
  • Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle Cars
  • Unreal Gold
  • Unreal II: The Awakening
  • Unreal Tournament 2003
  • Unreal Tournament 2004
  • Unreal Tournament 3
  • Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition

Thrash Unreal

One title may be seeing a second wind, though. Epic does note it has plans to bring back online feature forĀ Unreal Tournament 3Ā through Epic Online Services in the future.

Titles that were available on digital storefronts are already being removed, and DLC purchases disabled. Additionally, a select number of games have been removed today. The Mac and Linux versions Hatoful BoyfriendĀ andĀ Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday StarĀ are gone from digital stores. Also, the mobile titleĀ DropMixĀ has been taken down too. If you own these already, you should still be able to play them.

Battle BreakersĀ is going to shut down on December 30. Alongside those games listed above, a few other games shut down completely on January 24:Ā Unreal Tournament (Alpha),Ā Rock Band Blitz,Ā theĀ Rock BandĀ Companion app, andĀ SingSpace.
