Happy New Year to our community
We had a Whatcha Been Playing on Christmas Day, and now we have one on New Year’s Day! Wild. Yes, it is indeed January 1, 2022 and as 2021 puts on its coat and awkwardly shuffles out of the back door, a brand new year arrives, laden with the same issues. No, I’m not being negative, I’m being pragmatic. Part of the problem with 2021 was society’s belief that the calendar would magically “cure-all” when more realistic thinking was necessary. Still, it is a new year, filled with potential and the possibility for personal growth. There are elements of you and your life that you maintain full control over and ā whatever goals you set for yourself in 2022 ā they can be attained.
You can do it, because I believe in you. And even if you don’t, I still love you. You win either way.
While I had planned to smash through some Deathloop, Hades, and Returnal this week, science put paid to that. I found myself a little worse for wear following my third vax shot, which took its toll on me far more than the previous two. It should be noted, in the interest of science, that on the day of the shot I went on an incredible winning streak in Street Fighter V, so maybe we need to look into the hand-to-eye enhancing abilities of Moderna. (In the interest of clarity, this was followed two days later by the most exhausting loss streak I’ve had in years). Speaking of which, January 1 is Juri’s in-canon birthday, huzzah! So here’s hoping 2022 brings her (and me) plenty of buffs and lots and lots of Ws.
So, let’s get 2022 off to a rollicking start with a stellar round of Whatcha Been Playing? Before you mosey on to your weekend, jump into the comments below and fill us in on all of the great adventures that you’ve been having this past holiday week.
