Happy Birthday to Me (yesterday)
Hello, friends of Destructoid, and welcome to Whatcha Been Playing? This weekend is a bit special for yer boy Moyse, as yesterday was my birthday. Yes, as of right now, there is no possible way anyone could not class me as “middle-aged”. I mean, you might look at me and not know that — I grew up sexay like that. But as far as the calendar is concerned, I’m pretty much ready for discount coffee and a reduced rate on public transport. The number doesn’t bother me, but my dang knees sure do. Whew, boy. Anyway, thanks to everyone for their kind comments yesterday. I say that I love you, and I mean it. I don’t need to clarify this, you all know it. I hope this year is a good one. For all of us.
In terms of gaming this week, I’ve mostly been dallying in cutesy worlds, both in ININ Games’ retro shmups Cotton 100% and Panorama Cotton, as well as Leap Game Studio’s lovely-looking Peruvian brawler, Tunche — which is now available on PC and Nintendo Switch. You can look forward to words on all three of these titles in the coming week. Other than this, I’ve been attempting to sink into my comfort zone of grindhouse and B-movie glory. This week saw Cleopatra Jones, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, I Don’t Want to be Born, and Tales From the Darkside all unspool onto my screen — to mostly varying effect.
But I’ve already chatted far too much, you need to get to your weekend. But before you go and buy yourself a delicious pastry or donut in my honor, please take a couple of minutes to dive into the comments and share with us the games — or even films — that have been filling the wee hours of your week/weekend. Whatever you’re sinking into, share it here with the community. Offer your opinions, recommendations, maybe even your dissuasions, and let us all know Whatcha Been Playing? We always love hearing from you.
Have a wonderful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
