Tickets to this year’s BlizzCon — the yearly mecca for fans of Blizzard’s incredibly successful franchises — have now gone on sale for the (very pricey) sum of $100 a piece. They can be ordered from the official site.

BlizzCon 2008 will taking place in Anaheim California at the Anaheim Convention Center on October 10 and 11. Along with developer panels and hands-on time with Blizzard games (Diablo III! StarCraft II!) there will also be three tournaments to catch: the global finals for the 2008 Warcraft III and World of Warcraft arena tournaments and the third BlizzCon StarCraft Invitational.

If you don’t live anywhere near California or are just too busy to attend, but still want to catch all the proceedings live, then you’re sort of in luck, as Blizzard has announced that there will be pay per view coverage of the event, but only through DirectTV. If DirectTV does happen to be your satellite provider, and you live in the US, then you’ll be able to purchase the package for $39.95, which is how much a ticket for a normally priced convention would cost.

We’ve also gotten wind of a few items that’ll be showing up in the convention goodie bags, which will include a code for a WoW polar bear mount, and either a 16″ inflatable divine shield ball or a 48” inflatable Frostmourne.

So who’s planning on attending BlizzCon this year? What are you most looking forward to at the con?
