[Update: 343’s Joseph Staten confirmed thatĀ Halo Infinite‘s campaign and multiplayer will both arrive on Dec. 8, as reported, during today’s Gamescom Opening Night Live 2021. Our original story follows.]

It looks likeĀ Halo InfiniteĀ will be making it to Xbox and PC in December. According to a store leak and confirmed by The Verge,Ā Halo InfiniteĀ will launch on Dec. 8, 2021.

343 Industries recently hosted a development update where it reaffirmed a holiday window, though the team did not confirm any date at the time. The Verge, however, reports that its source says the Dec. 8 date is accurate.

ThatĀ HaloĀ update also confirmed that Halo Infinite‘s launch will not include campaign co-op or Forge at launch. 343’s head of creative Joseph Staten confirmed the studio would be adding these features post-launch, as part of the seasonal roll-out, in order to give them a little more time “in the oven.” Campaign co-op is targeting a launch in season two of Halo Infinite, with Forge to follow in season three.

Halo InfiniteĀ was originally set to launch alongside the Xbox Series X and S consoles last year in November 2020, but 343 Industries pushed the date back to avoid crunch for the team.

While it won’t be launching with the full feature set fans might hope for, this report does position bothĀ Halo Infinite‘s campaign and free-to-play multiplayer for a launch in December. We’ll see whether there’s a confirmation coming down the pipeline soon.
