Looks pretty crappy… no, literally
James Interactive has released a brand new trailer for the latest weird adventure from the mind of Edmund McMillen. The Legend of Bum-bo is described by the Super Meat Boy co-creator as “A puzzle-based deck building rogue-like prequel to The Binding of Isaac,” and launches on PC November 12.
The trailer, hosted by Bum-Bo himself, shows off the puzzle adventure’s unique “cardboard constructed” aesthetic, along with some of its turn-based combat, casino-based mini-games, and queasy blend of gore and poo. According to McMillen, The Legend of Bum-Bo is “kinda like Slay the Spire or Dicey Dungeons but very different.” The new title’s soundtrack is composed by Ridiculon, whose music also scored the grim dungeons of The Binding of Isaac Rebirth, Afterbirth, and upcoming DLC Repentance.
The Legend of Bum-Bo’s Steam page also lists various in-game features including at least four playable characters and over 100 items that can be modified and upgraded, helping you to take on the game’s 30 enemy types and 10 badass bosses. Just remember to go before you leave.
The Legend of Bum-Bo launches on PC via Steam November 12 and will be ported to iOS and Android devices at a later date. The Binding of Isaac: Repentance will launch later in 2019.
