Don’t you just love a surprise sequel?
I lost hope that we would ever see a sequel to PixelJunk Eden out of Q-Games, and that makes today’s surprise announcement during the Indie World Showcase all the sweeter. PixelJunk Eden 2 exists, and it’s coming in summer 2020 to Nintendo Switch with two-player local co-op support. Hell yeah!

The studio is collaborating with Kyoto-based artist Baiyon like before, and the premise is largely the same: swing around stages, collect pollen, and watch trippy gardens bloom. It’s an audio-visual treat.
I’m not sure I’d call PixelJunk Eden my favorite Q-Games title, but it’s up there alongside Monsters.
