“Execution is key” is a double entendre of sorts when combining John Wick with the turn-based strategy genre. XCOM-likes are all about planning and smart decisions, always playing the odds so things don’t go awry. John Wick, on the other hand, is mostly just about murdering everyone.

Those two will intersect thanks to Mike Bithell Games (Thomas Was Alone, Volume). Prior to the upcoming film John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum‘s release, Lionsgate and Good Shepherd Entertainment have announced the officially-licensed John Wick Hex.

John Wick Hex is described as “fight-choreographed chess brought to life as a video game, capturing the series’ signature gun fu style while expanding its story universe.” It’s seemingly a neon-drenched and quick-paced strategy game, as Wick has to constantly triage which of his assailants need to be killed first. It looks like a clever way of adapting John Wick to video games.

We’ll have to wait to know more about John Wick Hex. There’s no announced timetable for a planned launch window. It’s coming to consoles (although it’s uncertain as to which ones), PC, and Mac. The latter two platforms will be timed-exclusives to the Epic Games Store. We’ll find out more when the time is right, though. You don’t find John Wick; John Wick finds you.
