Hamster have added another bit of old-school adventure to their Arcade Classics range, as sky high superhero Bomb Jack brings his explosive adventures to the Nintendo Switch.

Developed by Tehkan for the arcade market in 1984, Bomb Jack sees players control the titular character through a series of single-screen platform stages. Jack must collect all of the bombs littered around each stage, using his jumping and gliding capabilities. In his way are a variety of enemies, whom Jack must avoid, or render harmless by collecting power-ups.

A hit in the arcades, Bomb Jack was ported to the home computer market, turning up on C64, ZX Spectrum and Amiga, among other formats. It was followed by a sequel – Bomb Jack II – and a revamped edition, Mighty Bomb Jack, in the years following its original release.

Bomb Jack is available to download now on Nintendo Switch, priced around $7.
