Epic Games recently announced that Battle-Royale-that-wasn’t-originally-Battle-Royale title, Fortnite, is being ported to iOS and Android devices. A new trailer has dropped which shows the game in action on the handheld devices.

Accompanied by music that’s far too young for my liking, we get to see hip kids engaging in frantic teamfighting. Obviously this is a stylised, controlled trailer, hardly a true-life experience. But, I gotta say, it looks pretty damn good running on the pocket-sized platform. All of the footage, the ad claims, is captured from the pricey iPhone X.

Epic Games seem to be pushing Fortnite into the stratosphere, putting it out on all formats, pushing for cross-play, hell, it’s even featured on UK TV in an abominable “This game is ruining my child’s life” segment. Though some will continue to complain about the game (supposedly) ripping off concepts from PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, it cannot be denied that Fortnite is on a pretty steady course for pop-culture stardom right now.

Those wishing to throw their name in that hat for the iOS Beta can sign up today at the official site. The mobile build will require you to have iOS 11 installed on one of the following devices: iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017. Android support is set for sometime in the future.
