Grand Theft Auto V hijacks the top spot
The chart figures were late coming in this week, presumably due to the folks who gather the data having to check it over ten times out of disbelief. Rockstar’s magnum-opus, Grand Theft Auto V, which isn’t going away until GTAVI, is back in the Number One spot.
Oh, but that’s not what blew me away. It’s kinda crazy, but not the biggest surprise. The real shocker is that the abominable PSVR title Bravo Team debuted at Number Three, beating out the titles that have held a monopoly on the charts for weeks. I guess people just gotta buy something. Also debuting in the Top Three was Sportbike racer TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge from Big Ben Interactive. The game has received so-so reviews from the gaming press thus far.
Elsewhere in the charts, Capcom’s Monster Hunter: World left the Top Five for the first time in a very long time, perhaps the game is finally starting to peak, but as Capcom’s best-selling release of all-time, this isn’t a reason for sadness. Speaking of sadness, dramatic adventure Life is Strange: Before the Storm made a re-entry at Number 18.
Tune in next week to see Bravo Team take the Number One spot. Of course, I’m joking. Right..? RIGHT..?
