Here’s a bit of movie casting that you didn’t think of, yet kind of makes sense—Variety reports that Ben Schwartz of House of Lies and Parks and Recreation fame will voice the titular blue hedgehog in the Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie. The news comes after the confirmation that Jim Carrey will indeed portray a live-action Dr. Eggman in the same film.

Schwartz has some experience with voice acting, lending his distinct voice to the Ducktales reboot as Dewey Duck (the blue one) and the upcoming Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as Leonardo (the blue one). He will also appear in the film Blue Iguana with Sam Rockwell this year. We’re noticing a lot of blue with this one.

This movie project is a curious one; I keep thinking that I’ll hate it, but the more I hear about the cast, the more I am intrigued. Sonic is a snarky but entertaining little piece of shit, a character trope that Schwartz is synonymous with. I have two questions, though: 1) will Sonic bang a human lady? 2) Will Sonic call Eggman “the wooooorst?”

Sonic the Hedgehog is in production, and will also star James Marsden and Tika Sumpter. The film will dash into theaters on November 15, 2019.
