WayForward, publishers of the Shantae series, have picked up 2015’s Steam release Mystik Belle for release on PS4 and Xbox One in October.

The game, which combines action-platforming with point-and-click style inventory elements, was developed by Last Dimension in 2015. Mystik Belle was inspired by Codemasters’ home computer adventures from the early ’90s, such as Dizzy and Slightly Magic (incidentally the last game I ever bought for the Spectrum).

It tells the tale of an amateur witch, Belle MacFae, who must overcome a horde of ghosts n’ goblins who are running rampant through her school, armed with only her shaky magical skills. The game features gorgeous, colourful sprites and backgrounds, as well as multiple endings, hidden locations and a multitude of object-based puzzles to be solved.

The new release will feature a revised storyline and improved frame-rates from its original release, which was received positively by the Steam community and reviewers alike.

Mystik Belle will be available for download on PS4 and Xbox One in October, priced $15.
