Vladivostok FM is gonna sound a bit different

For those unaware, earlier in the month, Rockstar announced that a number of licensed songs within Grand Theft Auto IV‘s radio stations were going to be removed in a new update, due to the 10-year licensing agreement on them expiring.

Well, the update has officially gone live and over 50 tracks have been removed, with Vladivostok FM in particular almost being completely gutted. However, Rockstar has attempted to address this by adding a number of replacement tracks to that specific station in the new update.

Here’s the full list of removed (and new) tracks:

Although it’s sad to see this occur, it’s also not the first time it has happened. Both San Andreas and Vice City were given a similar treatment upon their 10-year anniversaries — without warning, no less.

That said, I’m extra curious now if disc copies of Grand Theft Auto IV for the Xbox 360 work on Xbox One X without the need for any update. If you’re on PlayStation 3, oddly enough, Rockstar apparently sent out codes for the lost tunes as some sort of weird workaround.

At least they gave everybody a heads up this time around. Here’s to hoping they do the same in October for Midnight Club: Los Angeles for its 10-year anniversary.
