Tools of Destruction has a small installation glitch, not the end of the world

When I received my copy of Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destructoid from Sony yesterday morning, I was met with some bad news. Unfortunately, my PlayStation 3 thought my HDD had insufficient space, as Tools of Destruction requires 419 MB of space for initial installation. Before deleting files off of my hard drive, I cried in my community blog, and was met with such gems as “Just buy another PS3 with the lavish salary that destructoid provides you,” and “Delete all of your porn.”

As it turns out, this wasn’t my fault — Insomniac’s James Stevenson has confirmed with Shacknews that there is a small bug in the U.S. version of the game that causes the system to think you don’t have enough memory, even though you do. The solution is annoying, but simple.

“When this occurs, either delete or add about 500MB of data to your hard drive and the problem will go away,” Stevenson told Shacknews.

Not the best solution, but this might be the perfect opportunity to wipe Super Rub a Dub off of your hard drive before your friends find out about it.
