GamesIndustry.biz has a story up detailing a move by developer Foundation 9 in which Shiny Entertainment and The Collective have been merged into one studio. The two groups have moved into a new building in Irvine, CA and aside from the typical toilet-seat-up issues new couples often have, things seem to be going swimmingly.

What exactly this means for consumers is up in the air. Shiny hasn’t had a quality title since MDKSacrifice doesn’t count since none of you played, or remember it — and The Collective’s greatest claim to fame so far has been Marc Ecko’s Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure, the thrilling story of one man’s ego and his poor, overwrought skull.

Oh, and as the title implied, there’s still no word on a new Earthworm Jim title. Sorry to ruin your morning like that.
