Mark your calendars, folks. Today, GameTap adds two more titles to its already staggering amount of games to finally hit the magic number of 1,000. This makes GameTap easily the largest on-demand gaming service ever created. If you haven’t chekced them out in awhile, I suggest that you do so.
So, what game had the privledge of being the milestone, you ask? Sid Meier’s Civilization IV caps the list, and is a mighty fine addition to boot. Granted, I’m a bit disappointed that they didn’t choose to add Hello Kitty: Lovely Fruit Park for the Dreamcast as the 1,000th game, but I guess Civ. IV will do the job just fine.
We here at Destructoid congratulate GameTap on this achievement, and completely support them on their way to 2,000 titles. Let’s just hope that the next 1,000 games doesn’t contain E.T. from the Atari.
Interested in GameTap? Milk them for every game they’ve got for 99 cents for the first month (which includes stuff like Clive Barker’s Jericho and Overlord.) They’re cheap, and what gamer doesn’t like cheap?
