Still three weeks away from the release of Infinite Warfare, there is already scuttlebutt about the next rooty tooty point and shooty on deck. Next in line in the three-year cycle Activision has going is Sledgehammer, who last developed Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Prior to the release of Advanced Warfare, Sledgehammer was planning to create a third-person Call of Duty title called Fog of War or Vietnam that was to be set in Laos and Cambodia where the Vietnam War spread into. That was canceled, but rumors rooting from IGN Spain have suggested they are going to make the next game in Vietnam.

There is no word on whether or not they would use any of the assets or work from the canceled Fog of War title or if they would make it third-person, but this would not be the first game in the series to be set in Vietnam — that title goes to the first Black Ops.

Vietnam has been done before. What the gaming world really needs is a AAA Korean War game. It’s not like games haven’t been in Korea, North or South, or featured North Koreans before. I once went to the Korean War Museum in Seoul, and there are some crazy weapons they used back then!
