We still don’t know who the hell Surfer Girl is, but we know that she manages to drop more and more interesting “insider” information on us as time goes on. This time she lists some canceled games that you’d never know existed “unless you worked on them.”

There are quite a few eyebrow raising entries in the list of 18 titles posted on SG’s blog “such things that never was.” Alone in the Dark: The Abductions (PS2, Computer Artworks/Atari) takes the “what a shame” award, while Army Men: Air Cavalry (PS2/GC/XBOX, Check Six Studios/3DO) takes the “good, I’m glad” one. The canned Joust update is pictured above.

What? The Getaway Online (PS2, Studio London/SCEE) eventually became Home? Is that right? And the very idea of a arena fighting game based off the film A.I. blows my mind, but it’s right there at the top of the list.

Gamesetwatch points out that this information could have been pulled from Google searches, but it doesn’t matter — Surfer Girl throws out blog-friendly posts that we like to read and talk about. Plus, we’ll eventually find out who she is, and I’m willing to bet we’ll be greatly disappointed. Let’s just enjoy the mystery for now.

Hit the jump for the full list of cancelled titles.
