I’m looking to the sky to save me

Link can take to the skies in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Nintendo put out this short clip today that demonstrates how he can glide to his heart’s content and ambush his enemies from above. There’s even the ability to use fire arrows to create an updraft for additional time in the sky.

It’s a neat feature, but it’s certainly not the first time Link has been airborne. In a lot of ways, this looks similar in function to Wind Waker‘s Deku Leaf. It gets him from here to there without a bunch of pesky walking.

Heck, Link has actually been capable of some form of flight for quite a while now. The likes of Link’s Awakening and Ocarina of Time gave him temporary gliding abilities when he’d grab onto a Cucco. Majora’s Mask allowed him to fly about while wearing the Deku Mask whenever a Deku Flower was nearby. But, as far as utility goes, the paraglider looks to have those handily beat.
