Have it your way
Striking while the iron’s hot, EA’s already released the first developer diary for Star Wars Battlefield, which was announced last week. The video’s full of the type of information that should make any series fan giddy: DICE is working closely with LucasFilms to make the game, time is being spent doing extensive research of the franchise, and everyone’s working to make it as authentic as possible.
But, DICE may have tipped its hand as to one facet of gameplay. A quick cut in the video shows local co-op play, and what the same scene might look like from both the first- and third-person perspectives. Obviously, everything doesn’t completely line up because the two characters are standing side by side.
This isn’t a gameplay video, so the perspectives should be regarded as conceptual to a degree. Still, the final product likely won’t deviate far from this look. We’re rapidly approaching that point of the year where we get bombarded with game news, so it probably won’t be long before we find out for certain if this is what’ll make the final cut.
