Like Rory McIlroy PGA Tour before it, this year’s FIFA will use the Frostbite engine. Well, on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, that is — the last-gen PS3 and Xbox 360 versions aren’t going to, which presumably means they’ll be sticking with the old Ignite engine. I’d keep my expectations in check.

FIFA 17 will hit all five platforms on September 27 in North America and Sept. 29 worldwide.

Last year at E3, EA had Pelé tell us stories. This year, the company won’t have its usual presence on the show floor with a big, loud booth, but it will still have its upcoming games playable off-site and hold a press conference. That’s streaming Sunday, June 12 at 1:00pm Pacific. May God have mercy on us all.
