A Quiver of Crows looks lovely, seeks Greenlight approval

Flying skeletons and laser-firing birds can have all of my votes

Although I’m not a shmup aficionado by any stretch of the imagination, I do enjoy playing them from time to time. The ones that I tend to go for are typically on the unusual end of the spectrum. They either stand out due to their unique art style, or perhaps they might have an extraordinarily good soundtrack that manages to keep me interested. Sometimes both, as is the case with one of my personal favorites, Boss Baddie’s gorgeous Really Big Sky.

Sheado.net’s A Quiver of Crows definitely falls into the first category. Its clean and simple look and interesting use of morbid psychedelica is at once easy on the eyes and mildly disturbing when you take the time to think about what you’re actually looking at.

The title’s Greenlight page goes over most of the basics you’d expect from a game in this genre with perhaps a couple of deviations. Enemy movement, for instance, won’t always follow preset patterns; in fact, they will attempt to target you and hunt you down. The game also features local couch co-op, which is always a refreshing option for a PC game.
