Well, this is awkward. When it was announced Cyanide is making an official Call of Cthulhu game, we’d just assumed that it meant the previous one in development at Frogwares was no more. Turns out we were wrong.

The Sherlock Holmes developer has announced The Sinking City, an open-world Lovecraftian investigation game. The art given for it looks absolutely amazing, with tentacles and floods and all that good stuff.

The game is already set to be shown off too, as it is due to be unleashed on GDC next week. It will be interesting to see how The Sinking City differentiates from Call of Cthulhu, as both are investigation-based Lovecraft games.

I can’t wait to see more of The Sinking City because while the art is great, we don’t actually know much else about the game. I’m definitely excited for this one!
