Such wonderful music
The Kickstarter for Fresh3D’s high-def Outcast remake hasn’t made as much progress as I would’ve thought. There’s still time left — the project is sitting at just over $220,000 of its $600,000 funding goal with 13 days left in the campaign — but there are no guarantees.
Maybe this footage will help.
As I said in my earlier coverage, the biggest element missing from the pitch was straight-up gameplay — the more, the better. The video embedded above is only a sample of things to (possibly) come but it gets the point across. The environments are what you should be looking at most closely here, as “characters, animations and special effects are generated from the original version” of Outcast. And that was released in 1999, so, you know.
More than anything, the soundtrack has my attention. It continues to blow me away.
[Thanks, Stephen]
