Free to Play: The Movie

Valve is putting out a feature-length documentary which tracks three professional Dota 2 players as they train for the million-dollar tournament, The International. The movie, rather strangely titled Free to Play, releases for free on Steam March 19, 2014.

The featured players, as shown in the trailer above, are Danil “Dendi” Ishutin, Benedict “hyhy” Lim, and Clinton “Fear” Loomis. There’s also going to be a Free to Play Pack up for purchase (price unknown) containing in-game items: Fear’s Sven Set, hyhy’s Doom Set, Dendi’s Pudge Set, Free to Play Wards, Free to Play HUD, and Free to Play Courier.

25 percent of sales of this pack “will be distributed to the players featured in the film as well as the contributors,” according to Valve. Free to Play is of particular interest to me as someone who does not play Dota 2. It looks like a great introduction to that world.
