The sixth person ever to achieve it!

Recommended Videos

Kevin Birrell, who goes by the alias of KevinDDR, has joined the few, the proud, the Tetris Grandmasters. He is only the sixth person in the world to ever accomplish this feat, which should already give you an idea as to how ridiculous it is.

The run begins at around 2:24:00 of the Twitch stream, though that’s just the final level. Evidently, to even get to the qualifying round of the Grandmaster rank, Mr. Birrell had to achieve the best possible rank in four of seven of his previous games. Then, he had a chance to enter the qualifying round for Grandmaster. It all culminates in invisible flippin’ Tetris, in which he must perform a certain number of tetrises in order to achieve the ultimate rank. According to people who know way more about this than me, Mr. Birrell just barely made it through!

The reaction captured in the video is guaranteed to bring a smile to any face. Such pure joy! Congratulations to KevinDDR!

There’s the victory tweet. How sweet it must be to tweet that tweet! Kevin now joins players KAN, DIS, Jin8, SKH, and KFC as the elite group of Tetris players. Simply amazing!

During the day, he teaches high school kids about history. At night he kicks their butts in competitive games like Rocket League, Dota 2, Overwatch, and Counter-Strike. Disclosure: I've personally backed Double Fine Adventure, Wasteland 2, Dead State, SPORTSFRIENDS, Torment: Tides of Numera, STRAFE, and The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls. I have previously written for AbleGamers.com and continue to support them whenever possible (like HumbleBundle).
