Namco seems to be lovingly embracing the free-to-play model. The free Tekken Revolution is doing well enough that it added new, original characters. The free-to-play PC and PS3 racer Ridge Racer Driftopia just went up on Steam’s Early Access, sans multiplayer.

A Gematsu translation of Famitsu has revealed a new Soul Calibur game for PS3, Soul Calibur: Lost Swords. Aside from the name and the console, the only other thing we know about the fighter is that it will be free-to-play.

Anyone give Tekken Revolution a shot? Anyone looking to scratch a Soul Calibur itch with Lost Swords? Perhaps that and Soul Calibur II HD can hold fans over until the next full-fledged title.
