I gotta give it up for my man Mega Ran, without a doubt one of my favorite nerd music acts around. He’s got quite the spread, from Mega Man to Final Fantasy VII and even to River City Ransom. And next on the block is the turning point of the Castlevania series: Symphony of the Night.

The new album, Castlevania: The Nocturnal Cantata, is a 12-track hip hopera produced in conjunction with Sammus, pretty much the female analogue to Mega Ran. She mixed the bulk of the tracks on the album and also plays the part of Maria Renard. Mega Ran is of course Alucard, while Aussie rapper The Ranger spits as Richter Belmont.

The Nocturnal Cantata goes on sales tomorrow, June 4, for $7 digital or $10 physical. In the meantime, Ran has hooked us up with the entire album plus two bonus tracks for streaming preview, which you can catch on the Destructoid SoundCloud page. It starts off strong with “Aria of the Bloodline” (music video above), then goes into “100 Years” (originally off of Ran’s Time and Space: Mach’s Principle). I’m digging Sammus’ vocals too — listen to her shine on “Young Girl.”

But enough talk… have at you!
