The National Entertainment Collectibles Association, a.k.a. NECA, has just revealed a new San Diego Comic-Con-exclusive figurine of Friday the 13th‘s Jason Voorhees. Now, why would I be talking about film merch on a videogame website? Because this particular version of Jason is modeled after his purple-tinted sprite in LJN’s Friday the 13th on NES.

Buh!?

Apparently, a hardcore Friday the 13th fan painted a custom NES Jason and shared it online a good while back. NECA saw it and thought it was baller enough to turn into a legit item. The final figure will glow in the dark and come in a package reminiscent of the NES game’s rainbow-colored box. It’s a rather reasonable $25, though it’ll only be available at SDCC.

So yeah, that happened.
